Participation in the Jets Squad Program requires commitment, discipline and teamwork.
Athlete Expectations
Squad gymnasts are expected to:

Attend all scheduled training sessions unless illness or injury prevents participation.

Arrive on time and prepared for training.

Demonstrate respectful behaviour toward coaches, teammates, judges and officials.

Follow all safety instructions provided by coaches.

Wear appropriate training attire and maintain personal hygiene.

Represent Jets Gymnastics with professionalism at all times.
Parent Responsibilities
Parents and guardians are expected to:

Support coaches and the athlete development process.

Ensure athletes arrive on time and prepared for training.

Communicate respectfully with staff and other members.

Follow Jets Gymnastics and Gymnastics Australia Codes of Behaviour.
Failure to follow these expectations may result in disciplinary action or removal from the squad program.
2. Waiver & Acknowledgement of Risk
Gymnastics is a physically demanding sport that involves inherent risks.
By enrolling in the Jets Squad Program, participants acknowledge that:

Gymnastics activities may involve physical exertion, falls, and potential injury.

Coaches will provide appropriate supervision, instruction and safety procedures.

Athletes must follow all coaching instructions to minimise risk.
Parents and guardians acknowledge that participation occurs at their own risk and consent to their child participating in gymnastics activities, training sessions, competitions and related events.
Jets Gymnastics maintains appropriate insurance coverage through Gymnastics Australia membership registration.
3. Billing & Payment Authorisation
Membership & Fees
Squad training fees are charged via monthly direct debit.
Membership fees contribute to:

Coaching staff

Facility operation
-
Equipment maintenance
-
Program development
-
Insurance and affiliation costs
Payment Terms

Fees are automatically debited monthly.

All athletes must maintain active Gymnastics Australia membership.

Outstanding fees may result in suspension from training or competition.
Cancellations
Squad memberships require 30 days written notice to cancel.
Due to the structured nature of squad training programs, refunds are generally not provided unless exceptional circumstances apply.
4. Member Protection Policy
Jets Gymnastics is committed to maintaining a safe, fair and respectful environment for all members.
We support the principles outlined in the Gymnastics Australia National Integrity Framework, which protects participants from:

Reporting Concerns

All reports will be treated seriously and handled confidentially.
5. Child Safe & Child Friendly Policy
Jets Gymnastics prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children in our programs.
We comply with the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Gymnastics Australia safeguarding policies.

6. Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Policy
Jets Gymnastics is committed to providing a safe training environment for all athletes, staff and visitors.

Emergency procedures and first aid protocols

Qualified and accredited coaching staff

Safe coach-to-athlete supervision ratios
All staff are trained in First Aid and CPR, and emergency procedures are regularly reviewed.
Athletes must follow all safety instructions and report injuries or hazards to a coach immediately.
7. Squad Training Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential for athlete progression and safe skill development.
Squad athletes are expected to:

Repeated unexplained absences may affect competition eligibility or squad placement.
8. Competition Participation Policy
Squad athletes represent Jets Gymnastics at Gymnastics Victoria sanctioned competitions.

Compliance with Gymnastics Victoria competition rules

Attendance at required training sessions

Coaches determine competition readiness and level entry based on athlete development and safety.
9. Uniform & Presentation Policy
Squad athletes must wear approved Jets Gymnastics attire at competitions.
This may include:

Team warm-up apparel

Appropriate hair presentation

Minimal jewellery
Uniform requirements ensure athletes represent Jets professionally at events.
10. Code of Conduct
All members of the Jets Squad Program must follow the Gymnastics Australia Code of Behaviour.
Participants must:
